Route Taken: I chose the hardest and most dangerous route I could ride on my rigid single speed. Left the water bottle and helmet in the car. No need.
Opinions: I rode the entire loop in less than an hour. Then I did some crossfit in the parking lot. Pisgah is easy. I wish there were more climbs and tech stuff to test my Enduro skills.

Route Taken: Day one - Yellow Gap > North Mills. Day two - Trace Ridge > Spencer Branch > Wash Creek. Day Three - Trace Ridge > Spencer Gap >FSR5000
Opinions: Great remote feeling. Rode early in the morning each day and saw no other riders until getting to a trailhead. Enjoyed that part the most. A lot of climbing involved. Trace Ridge and Spencer Branch were very technical in places. Extremely technical as in unrideable for me. Loved the rest and sections of Spencer Branch that were not so technical. May have attemped in my younger days -

Route Taken: Trace Ridge to Spencer Branch. OMG...I don't know how you guys ride up this hill! Only 2 miles up, but the loose rocks were very difficult to maintain traction on. Spencer Branch was a sick downhill & quite technical at first.
Opinions: Fun, but maybe not for an intermediate to advanced rider. Need "expert" skills.

Route Taken: cove creek to fish hatch, up some single track to fsroad, down farlow gap back up fsr225
Opinions: long day in the saddle! unorthodox route which had us a stay in the woods looking like three pigs without a blanket!. btw, spare tubes are great kindling. but hey, what's an adventure without little story to boot.? Follow the trails, do not wander, even with map and compass, gps. I know it sounds silly. I love pisgah's uphill, always have. Farlow gap downhill puts big creek and pilot rock to shame. If you consider riding a creek bed down a skyscraper fun, your home. surprised to learn swank 65 ran this trail.? I was on a rigid 29er ss. I suggest a steed with at least 9 ft. of travel. Beautiful forest views with a bit of sanity questioning.

Opinions: i did not ride the trail but i went camping there and while hiking them instinctivley looked at it as if i was biking. good climbs, steep downhills, large rocks and (steps) wich would be a crazy ride if you could do it(unlikley) but looks like great fun and beautiful waterfall and crazy log bridges

Route Taken: Trace Ridge & Laurel Mountain
Opinions: Trace Ridge is a must do trail. The climbing is well worth it and the downhill is so fast that you will not believe it. Take plenty of water, goo and energy bars. Also, take some tools and a spare tube otherwise it would be a long, long walk out. Laurel Mountain is fun but the climb up is brutal; 6.4 miles up and the same coming down but it is fun. No room for error on this trail though because the trail is 12 inches wide in some spots with 80 ft drops if you make a mistake. The campsites at North Mills river are excellent! Don't miss this one if you are looking for a ride in the mountains!

Route Taken: i rode many trails in pisgah the week i was there .I was very technical and had many climbs.
Opinions: Best trails i have ever ridden . Be prepared for 1 to 2 hours climbing but the down hills make it worth it.
