| Trail Description: |
Poston Trail is built and maintained by the Piedmont Area Singletrack Alliance (www.bikepasa.com). Poston is made up of very hilly terrain making for a nice cardio workout with very little flat sections. The woods are very thick and the corridor is kept tight making for some nice singletrack trail. In addition to the singletrack there is a scattering of technical optionals along the way....from steep downhills, to drops, to jumps on the trail...Poston has a little something for everybody to enjoy. Poston trail is still under construction so new mileage is added every few months. There's also plenty of interesting natural highlights including a rocky stream that the trail crosses on several occasions, a fern forest, huge live oaks, large leaf magnolias, lots of wildlife, and much more. For the more adventurous, feel free to explore the powerline cut! |
| Other Info: |
: George Poston Park is open everyday from 6AM to 11PM. Help protect the park - If you hear or see ATV's (quads, dirt bikes, 4x4's) on the trail, the powerline cut, or riding through the park please call Gaston County Police dispatch at 704.866.3300 and report it as that's considered trespassing. |

thought I would let all of you know about the the trails that you enjoy so much you said at the top of the page call the police on any dirt bikes or four wheelers you see or hear. Well for your information the trails that you like were all made by them I know this because I helped make most of them I have lived in lowell all my life and so has my father and family and friends and thay all have road dirt bikes in the woods all around here. so befor you go telling on the people that made the trails you are loving to ride on you should thank them instead or you would not have any thing to ride on !! |

Was a premier place to ride but the lake that’s being built has F’ed the whole place up so I would stay away until, (if and when) they get this place straitened out. |

Everybody probably already knows this, the County Park Service is going to flood the trails here with an 11 acre man made pond so that retirees have somewhere to fish. The process has already started, we are losing one of the best trails around Charlotte. |

all but two technical trails |

I've only been riding about 3 months so this trail alway seems to challenge my stamina. IT A FUN TRAIL!! Lots of turns, many short drops, and i'm still working on the climbs which at the moment are difficult for me especially the one on the Spencer mountain loop climb parallel the the stream. Its rocky and it up hill. This is a nice wooded trail with nice down hill runs. |

This was my first official mountain bike ride. I borrowed a friend's bike to see how I liked it. It was awesome. I got there at 10 am and I only saw 1 person the whole time. I got scared in some places, but it was not too bad. |

Great trail system, a lot of nice, tight single track. I'm not sure how technical it is (or perhaps I'm ignorant of the definition of "technical"), but there are a lot of nice little dirt jumps/rollovers, but all of the ones I saw had ride arounds if so desired. Way less rooty than Beatty or Renni, but a lot of up and down which kept things interesting. Great singlespeed trail! |

The trail is a good workout with a lot of elevation change, nothing extremely steep but lots of up and down. All options on the main trail can be rolled over, the Technical options range from fairly easy to extremely difficult. I ride it two or three times a week and never get tired of it. Very nice piece of land that the trail is built on with some incredible trees. Makes a great hiking trail so if you have a non-riding partner bring them along. |
